Here is a house track for you and your crew to broadcast, and play in your sets. 'Love Your Beat' by Sadist started with a bassline and a looped sample from Stevie Wonder's 'Loving You Has Changed'.
Put your money together, because we've grabbed all the best of the futuristic house and IDM coming from Manchester's most popular record shop. Pigeon Hill have been instrumental in bringing house music, in particular the Manchester scene, to widespread popularity in the past 30 years. (Pigeon Hill were located on Oxford Road, St Peter's Square; the shop is now at the back of the Aquarium) We've sampled from classic compilations like 'Fill Your House With Techno' by Pigeon Hill, 'The First Techno Album' by The Orb, 'A Million Steps' by Ken Ishii and 'It Goes...' by P.A.I.N. The set is completed with the vocal work from 'Transmission' by 070 Shake. We've sifted through the past, and presented it here for free, for you to swap and swap.
The late '70s saw soul, funk and disco booming in America. With Dr Octagon's 'So Hot' came the timeless title track to kick-start a US hit-list including 'So Close' by Sugarhill Gang, 'Love Train' by Robin S and 'Summertime' by Kool & The Gang. We've combed through the mid-'70s UK singles and sampled the vocals and string arrangement from Gladys Knight & The Pips' 'Lord I Need Somebody'. It's a deep house classic, with TBM nodding to the 'I heard you liking Prince, I do, 'Oh yeah' chorus.
Not often do we get house tracks with such style and feel as these emanating from a Brazilian artist. Veruca Salt's 'You Used to Hold Me' is no exception. It's a track that rides a sweet organ line and tight snares, underpinned with a huge slap of claps and hi-hats. 7211a4ac4a
