My partner keeps going on about how medical ethics are super strict in the UK, especially when it comes to cosmetic surgery. Is that really true? I mean, I guess it’s a good thing but does it actually affect the way patients are treated? I’d love to know if people feel safer because of it.

I’ve always thought it’s kind of reassuring that there are so many checks and balances in place, especially with something as personal as cosmetic surgery. Makes the whole process less nerve-wracking.
Your partner’s right—UK clinics really do have to follow some strict ethical codes and rules for patient protection. But I learned while looking around that some overseas clinics are pretty similar, especially if they’re working with a lot of UK clients. Like plastic surgery, they’re all about patient safety and follow EU regulations, so I felt like I had just as much protection as I would have at home. It’s always smart to check what kind of rules and oversight the clinic has in place, wherever it is.
